We have announced the hire of our new head of immigration, based at our London office.

Rebecca Tester has joined from Fragomen LLP, where she spent almost 11 years in a number of roles, culminating in her position as managing associate at the firm.

In her new role as legal director, Rebecca will lead the immigration practice at Gateley in advising businesses and private individuals on a full range of UK immigration matters, including applications under the points-based system, settlement applications and nationality law. She will also advise on right to work requirements, securing and maintaining a UK sponsor licence and the immigration implications of corporate restructuring.

Rebecca said: “I am delighted to be entrusted with the growth and development of the immigration practice to complement Gateley’s other services and specialist teams across the UK. From the first meeting I had with the team at Gateley it was clear that the organisation’s forward thinking, positive culture and values aligned with what I am looking for.”

Chris Thompson, partner and national head of Gateley’s employment team, said: “The core of our immigration practice is to understand clients’ personal and business aims in order to actively support individuals to realise their career goals. In addition, we will be helping businesses to access important talent from across the world to meet their commercial requirements and we’re excited to have Rebecca on board to play a major part in achieving this.”
