Chris has specialised in employment law since qualification in 1997. He advises on the full spectrum of employment issues and also has expertise in the regulatory framework applicable to employment agencies and businesses. He has experience in sectors including recruitment, retail, leisure and travel, utilities and energy, financial services, health and the public sector. 

In the recruitment sector work includes compliance and risk management, engagement models, AWR, IR35, terms and conditions, restrictive covenants and employment litigation including all types of Employment Tribunal claims.

He regularly acts on the employment aspects of corporate and commercial transactions, with the focus on warranties/ indemnities, consultation obligations and the application of TUPE. He has developed a particular expertise in TUPE related issues and Employment Tribunal arising out of insolvent administrations and asset transfers. 

Chris is an engaging presenter and a regular speaker on employment law and recruitment issues, including Whitepaper conferences on employment law and presentations to APSCo members on compliance, new legislation and social media/business protection in the recruitment sector. 

Chris has vast experience dealing with the full spectrum of employment tribunal claims such as unfair dismissal, breach of contract, whistle blowing and all kinds of discrimination.  His rounded practice means that he is well placed to provide robust advice finding a balance between commercial realities of running a business and the minefield of employment legislation.
