Philip is dual qualified as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with a Master’s Degree in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution.

He has over 40 years’ experience in the building and civil engineering industries, during which time he has used his experience of the industry, together with his knowledge of construction contracts and quantity surveying procedure and practice to ensure the efficient organisation, supervision, and control of the commercial and contractual aspects of building and engineering projects being undertaken by clients.

Philip is regularly appointed as expert to advise on matters of quantum.

How do you help clients?

I help clients to increase value entitlement and to unlock the problems of receiving payment for works undertaken.

I also act as expert to advise on matters of quantum. 

Experience

  1. Quantum expert appointed by a national precast concrete supplier as Defendant to assess defect repair costs on a new transport interchange.
  2. Quantum expert appointed by a national utility provider as Defendant to assess remedial work and reinstatement costs to city centre multi-storey residential block following major water main leak.
  3. Representing a regional main contractor as Referring Party in adjudication proceedings to recover repayment of liquidated damages deducted for a new housing development.
  4. Representing a national main contractor as Responding Party in adjudication proceedings for valuation of variations, defect rectification, period of delay and associated costs for a new industrial unit.
  5. Quantum expert appointed by a national quantity surveying practice as Defendant to assess valuation of works in alleged negligent valuation certification by the quantity surveyor for a new residential apartment block.
