Rebecca specialises in debt finance and has acted for all of the major UK clearing banks, as well as a number of the challenger banks and alternative lenders. Rebecca also has strong borrower-side experience, acting for borrowers across a broad range of sectors, including hospitality and leisure, healthcare, education and charities.

Consistent client praise for continued excellence led to Rebecca being named as a “Leading Individual” by the Legal 500, and she has been ranked by Chambers and Partners for the last five years.

Rebecca studied law at the University of Cambridge, before training and qualifying at a “Magic Circle” law firm. More recently, Rebecca headed up the banking team in the Thames Valley for a large regional firm. Rebecca joined Gateley as a partner in the summer of 2023.

How do you help clients?

I help both lender and borrower clients with everything that they may need in conjunction with their debt funding needs. This is everything from the facilities, to the security, to advice on any intercreditor positions. My practice is very broad, ranging from syndicates of international banks, to the UK clearing banks, to film financiers, to funds, to property developers to universities, hotels, charities and schools.

No transaction is the same, each comes with its unique challenges and that is what makes my work so enjoyable.
