We have advised Connection Capital LLP in relation to the £13.6m MBO of financial risk management advisory firm, JCRA Group Limited.

JCRA Group provides hedging, financial risk and debt consultancy services to its clients. As part of its growth strategy it secured the backing of private investor clients of Connection Capital who invested £6.7m in the deal to support JCRA’s management team in executing its business development plans to drive future growth.

Founded in 1989, JCRA Group has grown strongly in the UK and Europe and has established an emerging North American presence.

A national Corporate team led by Partner Tom Durrant included Mark Metcalfe, Sarah Souter and Lisa Faragher (Corporate); Patrick Long, Aureilia Storey, Alison O’Kelly, and Poppy Brown (Banking); Nuala Murphy (Employment); Jo Symes (Tax); Paul Wild (Pensions); Colin Gittus and Parvinder Rama (Real Estate); Oliver Woodhouse (Regulatory) and Karen Levesley (Litigation).

Miles Otway, partner at Connection Capital, said: “This was a challenging transaction from the legal perspective, with numerous complications including: overseas entities with local minority shareholders, numerous exiting vendor shareholders, a compressed timeframe and new banking arrangements to be put in place. The team dealt with all of these admirably, with the hard work, diligence and detailed technical expertise that we have always seen in our many deals conducted with Gateley Plc.”
