Building resilience: Vanda Murray, Marshalls Plc

Vanda Murray explores the importance of leadership when considering business resilience.

Resilience is not just about corporate resilience. It's about personal resilience, it's about leadership. It's helping people retrain, perhaps working different ways, and encouraging them to collaborate. There's a Gallup survey, The State of the Global Workforce, that shows actively engaged employees are only at 9%, and that can't be allowed to continue. I hope that people think about that, think about the way they communicate with their staff, think about the way they engage them and the way that we get them to work together. They need to really think through how they manage their organisation and how they get ready to tackle and navigate the future and the disruptive technologies that are coming our way.
