We have successfully advised Inspired Energy Plc on the acquisition of Horizon Energy Group, an energy procurement and consultancy business based in Cork, Ireland.
The acquisition will be financed through a £9m share placing on AIM and a new £35m facility with Santander, which will refinance Inspired’s existing borrowings and provide further headroom for its future growth and acquisition strategy.
The deal was led from our Manchester office by Corporate Partner, Paul Jefferson and Corporate Associate Leigh Whittaker. Banking advice was provided by Richard Cowan and fundraising advice was provided by Corporate Partner Nick Emmerson and Corporate Solicitor Tamanna Keir.
Commenting on the deal, Paul Jefferson said: “We have a long-standing and strong relationship with Inspired Energy, having advised on its flotation and on a number of acquisitions since. We are delighted to continue to provide support and advice to the management team as the business goes from strength to strength.”
Paul Connor, Group CFO at Inspired Energy Plc added: “Gateley have advised on our acquisition trail over the last few years and Paul and his team have always provided first rate support, both legally and commercially – they are trusted advisors to our business.”
