Gateley Legal strengthens corporate team with two new senior hires

Gateley Legal has appointed Ravi Longia, a leading investment funds lawyer, to the role of corporate partner and head of investment funds.

Ravi moves from Cameron McKenna Nabarro where he worked as a senior funds lawyer. His appointment comes as Gateley Legal continues to expand its venture capital and alternative assets offerings in response to increased demand for VC fund advisory and transactional services from domestic and overseas fund managers and institutional investors.

Ravi is highly experienced in advising both new and established venture capital managers on structuring, raising and negotiating VC funds across a wide range of asset classes, jurisdictions and investment strategies.

Alongside Ravi, Gateley Legal has also appointed Thomas Howard who joins as a corporate legal director. Thomas was previously a senior legal counsel at financial software company, Temenos. He is a financial services regulatory lawyer with expertise across both contentious and non-contentious matters. Aside from his in-house and private practice experience, Thomas has also spent time as an enforcement lawyer at the Financial Conduct Authority.

On joining Gateley Legal, Ravi said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the business at such an exciting time and look forward to helping grow their already impressive reputation and VC funds offering.”

Thomas said: “I am excited about the growth opportunities within the team as we look to assist our clients in dealing with the fast-evolving regulatory landscape.”

Commenting on the appointments, partner and head of the corporate team, Tom Durrant, said: “We are extremely pleased to have expanded our corporate team with the appointment of Ravi and Thomas. They are both key additions to the team and strengthen our ability to further develop the VC work we are handling.”
