Gateley Plc, the legal business of law-led professional services group Gateley, continues to build on the expertise of its Residential Development team with the appointment of Charles Cantoni as a senior land acquisition lawyer into its Guildford office.
Charles joins the team from Moore Blatch LLP, where he worked as a commercial property partner for 12 years, specialising in residential development and acting for housebuilders and landowners. Before that Charles headed up the legal department of Charles Church Developments, a subsidiary of Persimmon Homes, one of the largest housebuilders in the UK. Charles has over 20 years of experience within the sector and joins Gateley’s Guildford office as a consultant.
Charles said: “I’m excited to join Gateley in this unique role to assist with the work of the team here. Gateley is the UK’s leading firm in the residential development industry, providing legal advice and support in all aspects of property and land development to housebuilders, land promoters and landowners.
“Joining Gateley offers me the chance to continue to work on specialist land acquisition and housing developments, as well as contributing to business development within the wider team.”
Partner and national head of Residential Development, Callum Nuttall, said: “Residential Development and the Housebuilding Industry is a big part of Gateley’s legal offering, with the team advising on up to 10% of all new home development in the UK each year.
“Charles’ appointment to the business demonstrates the high level of expertise Gateley offers to the wider residential development market, providing a full scale, end to end service for housebuilders of all sizes.“
