Gateley Hamer has strengthened its offering to the telecommunications industry with a number of senior property hires.

Telecommunications experts, senior associate, Ian Adams and associate, Jessica Ware will provide support to Gateley Hamer’s clients, which include global mast company On Tower Limited and operators Vodafone, Telefonica (as Cornerstone) and EE and Three (as MBNL).  Ian joins from Network Rail where he was responsible for their telecoms portfolio, whilst Jessica has been working as a freelance estate manager for the last four years.  Together they bring over 40 years of experience to the team.

The land referencing team has also grown in recent months with the appointment of land referencers, Liam Heeley and Nick Foukles, senior land referencers, Alex Sharp and Athanisia Lupini and land referencing assistant, Diana Ciobanu.

In March 2020, Gateley Hamer was made up of 30 property consultants advising on matters of land assembly, land referencing, utilities, and compulsory purchase. Just over 12 months later, the business now boasts over 50 professionals and has established a strong position in the telecoms sector, negotiating new Code agreements and providing expert valuation services to support the increased volume of litigation.

Jonathan Stott, managing director for Gateley Hamer, said: “I’m delighted that we’ve been able to continue our growth during such a challenging year, particularly in terms of our Land Referencing and GIS team, which has more than doubled since we acquired Persona Associates in 2019.

“We have taken advantage of the rise of agile working solutions, by being able to hire property experts as far north as Edinburgh and as far south as Devon, in addition to our established offices presence in London, Guildford, Birmingham, Leeds and Nottingham.

“I am confident that the team will continue to thrive and make the most of new working practices to provide the best service possible to our clients.”

Gateley Hamer became part of legal and professional services group Gateley in 2016. Since then it has grown from one base in Birmingham, to a number of offices across the country to provide clients with access to utilities, compulsory purchase, and compensation advice on a national scale.  They are a trusted adviser to local authorities and developers alike when promoting housing, regeneration, and infrastructure projects.
