Gateley Legal appoints new Manchester partner

Insight shared by:

Gateley Legal

The Manchester office of Gateley Legal has appointed Andrew Rankin as a partner in its commerce, technology and media team.

Andrew joins Gateley Legal from DAC Beachcroft where he spent over 13 years. In his role at Gateley Legal, he will advise clients on commercial transactions, information technology, data privacy and all service-related matters.

Andrew commented: "Making the decision to leave my previous firm particularly after such a long period was not easy. However, joining Gateley’s well regarded forward-thinking practice is a real privilege."

“Many organisations find themselves in a period of uncertainty at present, and as a result, a number of clients are looking for advice related to the consequences of COVID-19 in respect of existing technology deals and supply contracts. Of course, we are here to help with that, and Gateley has positioned its practice ahead of many of its competitors in order to advise in connection with legal issues resulting from COVID-19. A good example of where the firm is genuinely forward-thinking."

"I have no doubt that given my extensive experience in this practice area coupled with Gateley Legal’s full-service offering, will bring about new opportunities for the business."

Paul Jefferson, partner and head of Gateley Legal’s Manchester office, said: "Andrew’s appointment sees us further expand our practice in the city and I’m pleased to have him on board."

"In 2020 we are celebrating ten years of Gateley Legal being in Manchester. We are proud of our team in Manchester, the clients that we support across the North West and the relationships that we have across the Greater Manchester business community."
