A team of 22 from across Gateley has successfully conquered the national three peaks challenge, raising £4,500 for the Birmingham branch of mental health charity, Mind.

The team included employees from across Gateley Plc, Gateley Hamer and Gateley Capitus.

Despite challenging weather conditions and navigating some terrain in the dark, the team were able to complete the challenge safely and in good time.

Head of Learning & Development at Gateley, Ruth Heaton, said: “This is a fantastic achievement and I’m very proud of the team. It’s not the easiest of challenges and everyone worked together to ensure they were able to reach each summit without any difficulties.

“We’re thrilled to have raised more than £4,000 for Birmingham Mind. They are our charity of the year, nominated by our employees and the support they provide for people is invaluable. We hope to host more fundraising activities for them in the coming months.

“I’d like to thank Jessica Hopkinson from our Corporate team who came up with the idea and who has worked hard to make it happen, as well as training provider Sandstone Communications who supported us throughout the challenge with logistics. Their support has been invaluable.”

“Earlier this year, we launched our own health and wellbeing network internally. The network organises activities to support employees in building personal resilience and maintaining their physical and mental health and wellbeing, giving them the opportunity to participate in exercise and mindfulness sessions, as well as facilitating the training of mental health first aiders.”

The Gateley Group has raised more than £1.5m over the past decade for its yearly nominated charities, as well as providing pro-bono work and volunteer support to a wide range of causes.
