We have continued to expand our Residential Development team in London by appointing partner Andrew King.

Andrew has more than 23 years’ experience in property law and previously headed up the Residential Development practice at Rawlison Butler LLP.

Tim Ledger, head of Residential Development at Gateley Plc, said: “Andrew will be invaluable in developing our Residential Development team in London. We now have the widest range of offices from which we operate compared to any other firm in the UK – Birmingham, London, Leeds, Manchester and Nottingham. I welcome Andrew to the team and look forward to working with him to develop the team further.”

Andrew added: “Gateley has an extensive housebuilder client base acting for all of the top 10 national housebuilders, and 18 of the top 20, in all regions of the UK, and as well as this the team is currently acting on three of the Government’s 14 Garden Villages.

“I’m excited to be part of such a pioneering and successful team and I hope to work closely with the team to expand the offering further.”

Andrew’s appointment follows the recent appointment of legal director Louise Ilhan who joined to set up Gateley’s Residential Development team in Manchester in March.

Gateley has the largest specialist housebuilder team in the UK with 28 land acquisition lawyers and more than 130 staff. It offers a one stop shop for housebuilders from Heads of Terms structuring, through contracts, planning advice, OJEU and public procurement, utility diversions, CPO advice to completion of the land purchase, plot sales and infrastructure agreements. The national plot sales team itself is responsible for selling around 5% of all new home plots in the UK and the department acts on approximately 10-15% of the land acquisition market in England at any one time.

Gateley Plc is authorised and regulated by the SRA (Solicitors' Regulation Authority). Please visit the SRA website for details of the professional conduct rules which Gateley Legal must comply with.
