How do you help clients?
The challenge is to make the land buying and development process as painless as possible. I achieve this by concentrating on the client’s aim, which is the selling of completed units. Too often, solicitors get embroiled in legal arguments which do not help their client, rather than looking at the bigger picture.
By building long-term relationships with clients, I have been able to assess what level of input is required at each stage of the transaction.
- Acting for a developer in the acquisition of a site with a GDV in excess of £100m by way of multiple conditional contracts and related sales of parts to housing associations.
- Acting for a national housebuilder on the exercise of option agreements to purchase a site for the construction of in excess of 300 units with ancillary school and community facilities.
- Acting for a national housebuilder on the acquisition of the freehold and leasehold interests in a mixed-use development site with a GDV of in excess of £275m.
- Advising on the sale of serviced site of in excess of 250 units to national housebuilder.
