William has over 35 years’ experience of business restructurings, re-financings, rescues and turnaround. He specialises in advising the management of public and private companies where there is some form of financial or organisational under-performance, stress or difficulty.
Over the years, William has acted on numerous high-profile restructurings and insolvencies such as the ground breaking Parkside Industries Group, CardWorld, Furness Withy Shipping, Morris Properties, Fox Hayes Solicitors, Barretts & Stylo Shoes, Powerfuel Mining, Bid TV, Jones the Bootmaker. He also advises various tax offices in Germany in connection with ‘insolvency tourism’ cases.
William is a past President of the UK Insolvency Lawyers' Association, a Council Member of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals (R3) in the UK, a past Chairman of the R3 Yorkshire Region and current Head of the Institute for Turnaround, North Region & Scotland.
Consistent client praise for continued excellence led to William being inducted into 'The Legal 500 Hall of Fame' in 2018.
