Proactive management of real estate assets is crucial for investors to realise value. The asset management industry is growing but clients face key challenges when it comes to the regulatory and tax environments, as well as new developments such as climate change and ESG.

Our asset management team works with some of the largest landlords and investors in the UK to manage their real estate portfolios, whether that is to set up sites following development, or to buy existing sites and hold as investments.

What do we do?

Critically, our asset management lawyers are experienced in acting for both property owners and occupiers, so they’re able to quickly understand and appreciate the key asset management issues from each side of the deal. This insight gives us the power to slash the time needed to complete a real estate asset transaction by not getting caught up in lengthy and commercially irrelevant dialogue, and to deliver documentation which will secure a clean and profitable disposal at the end of the process.

Working alongside our in-house real estate investment and development teams, we manage the real estate assets for a wide range of asset management clients across the UK, ranging from shopping centres, outlet malls and high street parades to industrial parks or multi-let office buildings.

Our transactional asset management work includes:

  • documenting new and renewal tenancies
  • advising on determining existing tenancies
  • re-gearing and varying existing tenancies to maximise income stream, tenant covenant or tenant mix
  • dealing with tenant applications to make alterations or to assign premises.
What impresses me is the delivery, the performance, and the taking of overall responsibility for the legal management and delivery of the projects.

We also deal with property management issues including:

  • resolving tenant disputes
  • dilapidations settlements
  • lease renewal notices and proceedings
  • break clauses.

Who do we help?

Our expert team of asset management lawyers work with some of the largest landlords and investors in the UK as well as family offices and private investors.
