We are pleased to see so many of our lawyers being recognised in the two leading legal directories, Legal 500 UK and Chambers UK. These publications review solicitors and publish rankings on the individuals and teams they see as being the best advisers for the particular area of law in which they operate, as well as by geographical area.

Beginning with Legal 500, several of our fee earners who reached band one in 2022 have retained their top ranking for 2023. These are partners Chris Greenwell for commercial litigation, Andrew Macmillan for employment, Anna Mayfield for banking and finance, Simon Taylor for commercial property, Andrew Peddie for corporate and commercial and for insolvency and corporate recovery, Dan French, Nicola Kirk, Chris Radford and Mark Wilson.

Notably corporate partner Mark Rutherford has been inducted into the Legal 500 Hall of Fame.

While real estate partner, Adam Youatt moves from band two to band one for 2023, Rebecca Grisewood for corporate and commercial and Matthew Brown for insolvency and corporate recovery both move from band three up to two.

Partners retaining their position two rankings into 2023 include Ruth Armstrong for health and safety and environment, James Baird for debt recovery, Andrew Buchanan for insolvency and corporate recovery, John Burns for sport, media and entertainment, Ben Gorner for employment, Patrick Kennedy for pensions, Andrew Madden for banking and finance, Roger McCourt for banking litigation and Callum Nuttall for commercial property all retain their position two rankings into 2023.

Ravi Longia and the Gateley Legal investment funds group have been named as a firm to watch in the private funds category. This is an impressive result for Ravi and his team, having only established the practice less than 12 months ago.

The 2023 Chambers lawyer rankings also show an impressive roster for our lawyers. Notably Peter Davies, a partner in our construction team who has been listed as an eminent practitioner with Beth Mather, partner and head of our national corporate team, corporate partner Mark Metcalfe and residential development partner John Kiff all listed in the up and coming category.

Matthew Brown, Andrew Buchanan, Daniel French, Andrew Macmillan, Jonathan Moakes, Callum Nuttall and Mark Wilson are all named in band one.

In band two we have partners Peter Budd, Helen Burgess, Andrew Madden, Ed Meikle, Michael Collins, Stephen Goodrham, James Gopsill, Nicola Kirk, Andrew Piatt, Chris Radford, Mark Rutherford and Simon Taylor.

We also have many partners featured in band three including Paul Ball, John Burns, Paul Cliff, Simon Gill, Benedict Gorner, Rebecca Grisewood, Jane Hobbs, Patrick Kennedy, Tim Ledger, Roger McCourt, Andrew Peddie, Richard Pettifor, Victoria Portman, Andrew Rankin, Matthew Scudamore, Richard Sealy, Ray Simpson, Stuart Tait, Robert Waite, Neil Warner and Adam Youatt.
