When it comes to accountability and guidance, industry bodies set the standard. The same can be said for resolving disputes. Parties to a dispute often go through their industry body knowing the most appropriate neutral third party will be appointed to facilitate a resolution.

What do we do?

Our tribunal services team are regularly appointed as a neutral third party to facilitate the resolution of a dispute. As appointed members to an extensive list of industry panels, our team are highly experienced having acted as a neutral third party on over 1,100 disputes. We help parties reach a resolution efficiently, effectively and to all parties’ satisfaction.

With a particular expertise in construction disputes, we are regularly appointed by construction industry panels as adjudicator, arbitrator, expert determiner or mediator and have extensive experience in all forms of construction contracts including JCT, NEC, FIDIC, PFI and PPP contracts, as well as many bespoke forms of contract.

We are regularly appointed to construction, engineering, infrastructure and renewable energy projects, resolving disputes of up to £125m in value.

Our team members’ panel memberships include:

  • Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and RICS Scotland
  • Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA)
  • Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb)
  • Construction Industry Council (CIC)
  • UK Adjudicators
  • Centre for Dispute Resolution (CEDR)
  • Technology and Construction Solicitors Association (TeCSA)
  • London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA)
  • Construction Conciliation Group

Their expertise as dispute resolvers makes them ideally placed to provide advice and guidance on conflict management and avoidance.

Acting as party representative: arbitration, adjudication and mediation

Separate to our tribunal services team, we have a dedicated team of dispute resolution lawyers and surveyors who are regularly appointed directly by parties for advocacy work. As party representatives, the team advise on the most appropriate methods of common dispute resolution, whether that is bringing and defending court proceedings or through forms of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), such as adjudication, arbitration, expert determination and mediation. Find out more about our arbitration, adjudication and mediation services.
