We believe that we have the only team in the country which undertakes dispute resolution work exclusively for housebuilders.
The work is very varied but includes disputes arising from property agreements, boundary disputes, issues arising from restrictive covenants, title issues, professional negligence claims relating to pre- and post-acquisition advice, defects claims and claims by dissatisfied purchasers.
Our team know the sector inside out and are always able to understand the commercial context of the dispute as well as the legal issues. We talk the same language and can work just as well with site-based personnel as with senior directors.
We appreciate that many disputes (particularly with purchasers) need to be handled sensitively. We always aim to resolve disputes at an early stage, where possible. We are experienced in all forms of dispute resolution. While we still undertake complex High Court and County Court proceedings, many disputes are now resolved by different means and we are regularly involved in expert determinations, arbitrations and mediations.
