Kate has extensive experience in criminal defence. She regularly represents clients in interviews under caution and through prosecution proceedings in a wide range of cases, from driving offences to serious criminal charges including health and safety, environmental, trading standards, financial crime and fraud.

She is an accredited police station representative, known for providing strategic legal advice and strong advocacy in police interviews, Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court. Known for a meticulous approach, Kate works tirelessly to achieve the best possible outcomes for her clients.

Experience

  1. Acting for a client alleged to have inflicted grievous bodily harm with intent. By challenging the Prosecution evidence in the case, and with successful representations to the CPS, the matter was discontinued before trial.
  2. Advising a client through interview under caution through to Crown Court proceedings following a charge of dangerous driving causing serious injury resulting in the client given a suspended sentence.
  3. Representing a client accused of rape and sexual assault in multiple interviews under caution. By challenging the police evidence in well-drafted prepared statements, all the allegations against the client were dropped.
  4. Acting for a client charged with fraud and money laundering. Representing the client during interview under caution, prosecution and subsequent POCA proceedings.
  5. Advising a client in connection with an Environment Agency prosecution.
  6. Advising a large corporate client in connection with breaching planning control and subsequent enforcement action.
