Gateley names St Ann's Hospice as new charity partner

Our Manchester office has chosen St. Ann’s Hospice as its charity partner for the next 12 months.

St Ann’s Hospice provides care and support to adults affected by life-limiting illnesses, helping to manage their symptoms and provide support to their families and carers.  Formed in 1971, it is one of the oldest and largest adult hospices outside of London.

Jon Mason, a partner in Gateley’s Real Estate team, and Mark Iveson, a legal director in the Planning team, both have a special connection with the charity and made the nomination to colleagues.

Jon said: “Every financial year we are asked to nominate a charity we care about and everyone within the business is able to vote.  St Ann’s Hospice and the work that it does, is very close to the hearts of many people in Manchester and beyond.

“St Ann’s Hospice is an amazing facility providing end of life care to those in need. The work they do gives us something to feel proud of as a city."

Mark added: “I nominated St Ann’s Hospice for the same reasons as Jon. I’ve also had personal experience of St Ann’s Hospice because of the care and support they provided to my fiancée’s great uncle during the last few months of his life.  The way the charity helped during this difficult time allowed him to die with dignity.”

Corporate fundraiser for St Ann's Hospice, Louisa Hussey, said: "As a charity we need to fundraise £20,000 to continue providing our care to local patients and their loved ones. We’re so pleased that we have been chosen as Gateley’s charity of the year, as their support will make a real difference to the lives of the people we support.

"However people choose to fundraise; we are truly grateful for every donation. We simply couldn’t continue to provide our care without the support of our local community and businesses like Gateley.  We really do appreciate it, and we’re looking forward to working with the team in the coming year to raise money to help patients and their families at a time when they need it most.”
