Students at a Birmingham secondary academy and sixth-form have set-up a stationery shop to make every day school items more affordable.

The shop at Holyhead School in Handsworth gives students the opportunity to buy items during break times to help them with their studies.

It received a boost this week when the Birmingham office of legal and professional services group Gateley donated boxes of notepads, pencils and pens following a rebrand earlier this year.

Alongside the Gateley branded items, the shop will also sell school books and revision guides. A shop assistant has also been recruited to help manage the store, as it gears up for the exam season.

The Principal at Holyhead School, Ross Trafford, said: “We are so grateful that Gateley chose to donate their outdated stationery to us – it will really help make the lives of our students and their parents easier when they are able to buy stationery, books and revision materials on site.

“Both the staff and the students are very excited to launch the shop. Long-term, we would like to expand it so that we can also sell tickets for events.”

Gateley Plc is authorised and regulated by the SRA (Solicitors' Regulation Authority). Please visit the SRA website for details of the professional conduct rules which Gateley Legal must comply with.
