Our Academy for Sureties returns this summer with a lively debate followed by a barbeque and live entertainment.
The Academy will begin with a debate between two leading barristers in relation to the recent case of Yuanda (UK) Company Limited v Multiplex Construction Europe Limited. A matter which provoked a lot of discussion both in terms of the judge’s ruling and the impact this had on the surety market and performance bonds: did the ruling really transform all performance bonds into adjudication bonds?
We will be joined by leading King’s Counsel, Alex Hickey of 4 Pump Court Chambers, who represented Yuanda (UK) Company Ltd and barrister Alexandra Bodnar of Keating Chambers, for what is set to be a lively discussion as both parties argue their case in this matter.
Following that debate, we will take advantage of the summer weather with a barbeque on our terrace overlooking St Paul’s Cathedral, with live music and entertainment.
