Praetura Ventures' fund set-up and first investment

We are pleased to have advised Manchester-based financial services company, Praetura Ventures on its £900,000 investment in fertility start-up company Dr. Fertility.  

The investment follows on from the set-up of Praetura Ventures 2019 Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) fund from earlier this year.

Gateley partner, Paul Jefferson and senior associate, Leigh Whittaker advised Praetura on the EIS fund, which closed at around £15m. The fund is the largest-ever maiden EIS fund and is helping to address the £300m venture funding gap in the North West of England.

The first investment of Praetura’s maiden EIS fund will be used to develop Dr Fertility into a full-service digital health platform, providing support to the one in seven couples in the UK that are affected by infertility.
