We have advised on two deals in the North West hotel and leisure sector. 

Sale of Mere Golf & Country Club Limited

The first deal saw the sale of Mere Golf & Country Club Limited by shareholders Mark Boler and Gary Corbett to Ejarat Holdings.

Our team advising the shareholders was led by Corporate partner Mark Halliwell, supported by Ffion Brumwell-Hughes (Corporate), Rachel Baker and Catherine Cross (Property), Chris Thompson (Employment), Richard Clitherow, Jo Symes and Passionate Munyengeterwa (Tax) and Michelle Trench (Banking).

Mark Boler of Mere Golf & Country Club Limited commented: “I am delighted we have secured a new owner for the business. Since 2011 we have continued to develop The Mere brand with investment in building the spa and hotel and enhancements to the wider resort offering, and now truly believe that this presents an opportunity for the business to build on its already enviable position and grow further.”

Sale of The Stanneylands Hotel

The second deal was the sale of The Stanneylands Hotel in Wilmslow, Cheshire, by The Mere Boutique Limited to JW Lees.

Our team was led again by Corporate partner Mark Halliwell and included Ffion Brumwell-Hughes (Corporate), Rachel Baker (Property), Richard Clitherow and Passionate Munyengeterwa (Tax) and Hayley Sullivan (Construction).
