We are pleased to announce that Tonderai Nyandoro has been appointed to the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) List of Arbitrators.

Tonderai, a legal director in our Dubai office, joins an international roster of professional arbitrators to support the DIAC in facilitating the settlement of commercial disputes via arbitration, mediation, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

“I am pleased and honoured to join the List of Arbitrators for one of the region’s largest alternative dispute resolution centres,” Tonderai said. “This appointment strengthens our capabilities in serving clients in the United Arab Emirates and beyond and underscores our commitment to excellence in international arbitration.”

Established in 1994, the DIAC is an independent, non-governmental and not-for-profit organisation that supports parties of all nationalities and jurisdictions in settling commercial disputes outside judicial courts.

With a default seat of arbitration in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), the DIAC has administered nearly 5,000 cases since its inception, amounting to a total of more than 80 billion United Arab Emirates Dirham (or more than £17bn).

Joining Gateley in 2023, Tonderai works closely with London-based international arbitration heads Michael Lightfoot and Kieran McCarthy, as well as Nigeria-based consultant Perenami Momodu, to enhance and expand our commercial dispute resolution and international arbitration services across the UK, the Middle East, and Africa.
