Nicola’s practice encompasses advising on a variety of commercial disputes for both corporate and individual clients. She has experience of all aspects of the litigation process from the pre-action stage through to trial, and has participated in a number of mediations and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
She has advised clients in respect of professional negligence claims, breach of warranty claims, shareholder disputes and claims concerning breaches of trust. Nicola has also advised on the interpretation of commercial agreements in addition to litigating claims for breaches of commercial agreements.
Experience
- Acting for a director of an AIM-listed company in relation to a claim for breach of his employment contract, leading to a negotiated settlement in which the director received substantial damages and retained his share entitlement in the company.
- Acting for a director and shareholder in a property development company in respect of an unfair prejudice claim.
- Successfully defending a professional negligence claim made against a firm of solicitors, where the damages sought ran into six figures, and obtaining judgment for payment of its fees.
