Michael has over seven years’ corporate transactional experience. He advises clients on acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures, corporate restructures, capital market transactions and private equity investments, with a particular focus and experience in the financial services and renewable energy sectors.
Michael regularly advises industry consolidators on buy-and-build strategy and implementation. Michael also advises smaller owner-managed businesses on exit strategy, maximising value and protecting their interests in a sale.
Experience
- Advising clients such as Timpson, JD Sports Fashion Plc, Palatine Private Equity and Fortra LLC on acquisitions and disposals.
- Advising Independent Wealth Planners UK on the acquisition of more than 20 IFA firms over the past 5 years, which increased the industry consolidator’s assets under management to over £6bn. Michael also spent time providing in-house legal support to the IWP Board during a particularly challenging time when the group was growing rapidly.
- Advising various owners and managers of IFA, accountancy and payroll businesses on acquisitions and disposals.
- Advising Story Energy on various renewable energy joint ventures.
- Advising the shareholders and management of Oliver James on a minority investment into the group by Soho Square Capital Group.
- Advising listed companies such as Surface Transforms Plc and Software Circle Plc (formerly known as Grafenia Plc) in relation to proposed investments, commercial arrangements and capital market matters.
