Rachel advises clients on a broad range of complex disputes, including commercial litigation, arbitration, mediation, asset recovery, fraud-related matters and high value class actions. She has experience acting for clients across a variety of sectors, including commercial real estate, the public sector, financial services and technology.

Prior to joining Gateley, Rachel trained at a leading international law firm. 
 

Experience

  1. Advised a telecommunications company in an LCIA arbitration and a subsequent CEDR mediation concerning a disputed contractual price increase mechanism.
  2. Assisted the liquidators of insolvent UK companies in claims involving breach of fiduciary duties; fraudulent trading; unlawful means conspiracy; restitution and knowing receipt against a prominent family in a $1.5bn fraud dispute.
  3. Advised a leading investor in UK SMEs in a Commercial Court claim for breach of warranty and negligent misrepresentation following a corporate acquisition, resulting in a successful settlement.
  4. Advised clients on a broad range of disputes and risk issues arising from corporate transactions, including breach of warranty claims, due diligence matters and breaches of employee post termination restrictions.
  5. Acted for a CEO in a complex Commercial Court fraud dispute concerning alleged beneficial ownership interests in an international data centre business.
  6. Acted for 12,000 claimants in High Court group litigation involving alleged breaches of the UK GDPR and misuse of private information.
  7. Part of the team acting on the Supreme Court decisions Cornerstone Telecommunications Infrastructure Ltd v Compton Beauchamp Estates Ltd and Cornerstone Telecommunications Infrastructure Ltd v Ashloch Limited & anr [2022] UKSC 18.
