Our Northern Ireland team are continuing to support sport in the region by undertaking a two year sponsorship arrangement with Down Triathlon Club, which will assist with the club’s new crowdfunder campaign.
The campaign has been created to raise a total of £8,500 in a six week period. £5,500 will go directly to the club’s junior section, with the remaining £3,000 destined to support adult members.
Sport Northern Ireland has pledged to provide £5,000 of the money in the form of a grant, if the club’s campaign can raise £3,500.
The arrangement will also see us becoming the headline sponsor of the Beyond the Wall Triathlon event, which is an annual triathlon taking place in the grounds of the Castle Ward Estate.
Peter Barr, partner for Gateley Legal in Northern Ireland, said: “We strongly believe in doing what we can to help support sport at grass roots level here in Northern Ireland, hence this new sponsorship arrangement with Down Triathlon Club. We have also recently undertaken a sponsorship deal with Holywood Rugby Club.
“In addition to the undoubted health benefits that come with taking part in triathlons and sport generally, it also helps develop confidence and self-esteem in children, young people and adults and we are pleased to be able to support Down Triathlon Club with their endeavours.”
Down Triathlon Club was established in July 2019 by 12 local triathlon enthusiasts to attract and encourage participation in the sport in the Down area. The club caters to all levels of ability, from complete beginners through to ‘Ironman’.
Beyond the Wall Triathlon is an annual event and part of the Triathlon Ireland Race calendar. It is hosted in the stunning grounds of Castle Ward Estate on the 1 July. This year, the club is aiming to attract 400 entries which will involve an estimated 3,000 people on the day.
