We have advised Fortra, a global cybersecurity software and services provider, on its acquisition of the entire issued share capital of Zero-Point Security Limited, a UK-based specialist in offensive security and red team operations training. The transaction strengthens Fortra’s industry leading offensive security portfolio and expands its global training capabilities.

Based in Warrington, Zero-Point Security is widely recognised for its advanced red team and adversary emulation training. Through the acquisition, Fortra will integrate Zero-Point Security’s specialist programmes into its established suite of offensive security tools, enhancing the accessibility of elite red team education and helping organisations upskill their cybersecurity teams with practical, adversary focused techniques.

The Gateley Legal team advising Fortra was led by corporate partner David Armitage, supported by corporate senior associate Michael Rock, corporate solicitor Cordelia Stephens, intellectual property, commercial & technology legal director Tom Hughes, employment partner Paul Ball, tax partner Richard Clitherow and tax solicitor Steven Spisto-Luces.

Commenting on the acquisition, Fortra CEO Matthew Reck said: “Zero-Point Security will play a pivotal role in shaping an enhanced training portfolio, enabling Fortra to help organisations worldwide upskill their teams in adversary focused techniques, and adopt a purple team mindset for stronger, more complete protection.”

David Armitage added: “We’re pleased to have supported Fortra on this important acquisition. Zero-Point Security has built an exceptional reputation in the offensive security training market, and the combination with Fortra’s established cyber capabilities creates a strong platform for continued global growth. It was a pleasure working with the Fortra team on this transaction, and we look forward to seeing the business continue to grow.”
