We have strengthened the real estate team at our Birmingham office with the appointment of Daniel Walsh as partner.

Walsh brings a wealth of experience to Gateley, having previously held senior roles at CMS, Eversheds Sutherland and Gowling WLG. He has 20 years’ experience working with a range of developers, institutional investors and property funds on complex, strategic and high value development and investment transactions across all real estate asset classes, with a particular focus on large-scale logistics schemes and urban regeneration projects.

He joins an established commercial development team in the Birmingham office, alongside fellow real estate partners Richard Pettifor, Ray Simpson and Chris Adams as Gateley Legal continues to be one of the market leaders in the logistics sector across the Midlands.

Research by Savills earlier this year revealed that the Midlands commercial development market demonstrated continued resilience, with robust occupier demand and growth forecasts, despite macroeconomic uncertainty.

Rebecca Sherwin, national head of real estate and head of Gateley’s Birmingham office, said: “Daniel brings great knowledge and experience to the team and expands our development and logistics expertise within the Midlands. The region continues to see a strong pipeline of commercial development activity and, with several partners in the Birmingham office focused on this sector, we continue to have the skills and resources to support our clients with their continued growth.”

Daniel Walsh, real estate partner, said: “It’s great to have joined such an established development team, particularly one which has a strong track record of supporting logistics developer clients, which is an important part of my practice. I have spent the majority of my career in Birmingham and I’m keen to continue to add to my experience of dealing with large-scale development projects in the region. Having met the team, I’m confident that Gateley provides a strong platform and it’s great to be joining the business at such an exciting time.”
