Gateley has announced a trio of promotions and a new appointment in its Belfast office, including the promotion of a new partner and director.

Commercial dispute resolution lawyer Jonathan Jackson has been promoted to partner at Gateley Legal, whilst Stacey Ferguson becomes director at Gateley Capitus, the Group’s tax incentive consultancy, who have also promoted Charlie Blair to senior capital allowances consultant.

Gateley Legal has further strengthened its real estate team with the appointment of Clare McWilliams as senior associate. Clare joins from Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer and will provide support to Gateley’s comprehensive real estate practice nationally.

The promotions come as Gateley celebrates the ten-year anniversary of its expansion into Belfast, following the acquisition of Gateley Capitus back in 2016. Since then, Gateley has evolved into a full-service legal and professional practice, offering a unique and integrated model that proves valuable to clients in need of multi-jurisdictional support, with many of its partners and senior lawyers licensed to operate across Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, England and Wales.

Alison Reid, real estate partner and Belfast office head at Gateley, said: “We pride ourselves on creating an environment in which talented lawyers can develop and thrive, so we are incredibly happy to be announcing these much-deserved promotions. Jonathan, Stacey and Charlie have each played a huge role in the growth of Gateley in Belfast and we look forward to seeing them take the next steps in their respective careers.

“We are also pleased to welcome Clare to the team. Our real estate practice is continuing to flourish in Belfast and Clare will play an integral role in helping us to continue to deliver fantastic results for our clients.”
