Across Gateley, our people came together to honour the memory of much-loved former colleagues.

In June, people from our Leeds office, alongside former colleagues, family and friends, took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Walk in memory of Martin Barnes, a senior associate in the construction team. A passionate walker, Martin was remembered through a challenge that reflected his love of the outdoors while raising funds for The Brain Tumour Charity, a cause close to his family. Together, the group raised over £5,500, far exceeding expectations and creating a meaningful legacy in his name.

In September, more than 30 colleagues from our Manchester office joined Sarah Sabin’s husband, Alan, for a memorial walk to Mam Tor in the Peak District, in honour of Sarah, who sadly lost her life to cancer..

Following the walk, the team received the following message from Alan: “Just wanted to say that I enjoyed the event yesterday. It was nice to see a few familiar faces and to meet a few new people too. Nice to be reminded how well-regarded Sarah was by so many and to walk with them in very familiar and much-loved places. Sarah would have enjoyed it and been pleased everybody made the effort to come. I say thanks on her part too.”

In our last financial year, our Manchester office raised over £10,000 for Cancer Research UK.
