Ali specialises in providing indirect tax advisory services, tax due diligence, tax structuring and transaction document drafting and review. He also has considerable experience in the management of indirect tax compliance obligations and assisting with tax audits and litigation.
Ali has advised clients across a wide variety of sectors across the GCC including local and international corporates, global PE funds and GCC sovereign wealth funds.

- Advising on the merger of Vodafone Hutchinson Australia and TPG Corporation (two of the largest telecommunications providers in Australia).
- Advising on the disposal of telecommunication towers across the GCC by Ooredoo Group to a newly formed joint venture together with Zain Group and TASC Towers.
- Advising a UAE-based sovereign wealth fund on the proposed share acquisition of a leading producer and supplier of fire protection and alarm systems.
- Advising a leading UAE-based bank on the proposed merger with a majority state-owned bank.
- Advising on the tax implications arising from the NMC Healthcare restructuring.
- Advising on the acquisition of district cooling assets in Abu Dhabi by Abu Dhabi National Central Cooling Company (Tabreed).
- Advising G42 on the share acquisition of a stake in Khanza Data Center Holdings.
- Advising Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA) on its asset and share acquisition from Abu Dhabi Power Corporation (ADPower) and subsequent restructuring post-acquisition.
- Advising OSN Group on its acquisition of a majority stake in Anghami.
- Advising Public Investment Fund (PIF) on its acquisition of Diriyah Gate Development Company.
- Advising Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA) on its successful bid for the development of a steam and power generation plant in Saudi Arabia.
