Expertise

Peter has overall responsibility for the delivery and development of the company’s geospatial and land referencing services. He leads multidisciplinary teams providing land referencing, GIS, data management and spatial analysis services across nationally significant infrastructure, regeneration, energy and transportation projects.

Peter has over 12 years’ experience delivering and managing land referencing and geospatial commissions across the built environment. He has extensive experience supporting Development Consent Orders (DCOs), Transport and Works Act Orders (TWAOs), Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPOs), regeneration schemes and major development projects, providing strategic advice and technical oversight throughout the project lifecycle.

Throughout his career, Peter has led teams responsible for land ownership identification, Book of Reference production, statutory consultation support, land interest management, GIS analysis and spatial data delivery. He has successfully delivered land referencing services for nationally significant infrastructure projects, including National Grid’s Great Grid Upgrade programme, National Highways RIS2 schemes, major renewable energy developments, urban regeneration projects and light rail extensions.

In addition to project delivery, Peter is responsible for driving innovation within geospatial and land referencing services, promoting the adoption of new technologies, digital workflows and data-led approaches to improve project efficiency and client outcomes. He works closely with clients, legal teams, planning consultants and engineering disciplines to ensure the successful integration of land and spatial data requirements across complex projects.

Peter actively engages with industry bodies including the National Infrastructure Planning Association (NIPA) and the Compulsory Purchase Association (CPA), enabling him to maintain a strong understanding of legislative, policy and industry developments. Through these networks, he contributes to professional collaboration, knowledge sharing and the advancement of best practice within the infrastructure and land professions.

How do you help clients? 

  • I help clients identify and manage land risks at the earliest stages of project development, ensuring schemes are designed around known constraints and supported by a robust land strategy.
  • I help clients reduce consenting risk by providing expert land referencing and geospatial advice that supports successful DCO, CPO and TWAO applications.
  • I help clients transform complex land and spatial data into clear, actionable insights that enable confident and informed project decision-making.

Experience

  1. Led the Land Referencing team supporting National Grid’s Great Grid Upgrade programme, including the Norwich to Tilbury and LionLink Development Consent Order (DCO) projects.
  2. Provided Land Referencing support to National Highways’ RIS2 programme, including the M25 Junction 10 and M25 Junction 28 DCO schemes.
  3. Led the Land Referencing team in delivering a nationally significant Energy from Waste DCO for Boston Alternative Energy.
  4. Led the Land Referencing team on a range of Transport and Works Order (TWAO) projects for Midland Metro, including the Wednesbury to Brierley Hill and Edgbaston extensions.
  5. Supported solar developers through land constraints mapping, grid connection assessments, and DCO preparation activities, including the Helios Renewable Energy DCO.
  6. Provided land ownership due diligence support to TotalEnergies during the acquisition of 350MW of solar projects and 85MW of battery storage projects.
  7. Delivered Land Referencing services for major regeneration schemes, including Brent Cross Cricklewood, Elephant & Castle, and Grange Farm Estate.
