Expertise

Adam is a solicitor in Gateley’s Construction team, based in the Leeds office. 

He advises on a range of contentious construction matters, with a particular focus on fire safety defects and complex multi party disputes arising out of residential developments.

Adam has experience advising and acting for a broad range of clients, including private individuals, developers, contractors and international companies. His practice covers construction disputes ranging from residential claims to multi million pound proceedings in the Technology and Construction Court.

He also advises clients on contractual disputes with local authorities and other public bodies, including claims arising under NEC contracts, and has experience acting for clients in alternative dispute resolution procedures such as adjudication and mediation.

Working closely with developers, contractors and consultants,  Adam provides pragmatic advice throughout the lifecycle of construction disputes, from early strategic advice through to litigation, ADR and settlement.

Experience

  1. Acting for a national-scale contractor in a multi-million pound breach of contract claim in the TCC.
  2. Acting for a regional-scale developer in a dispute surrounding the development of new-build properties and settling the dispute via mediation.
  3. Acting for a client in an adjudication in relation to a repudiatory breach contract.
