We have strengthened our national clerk of works team with a trio of appointments. Dan Cook takes up the role of technical director, while Alex Turpin and Duncan Bremner both join as assistant clerk of works.

Dan brings 25 years of construction management experience to the team. He has previously held roles with major housebuilders, including Bellway Homes, Morris Homes, Barratt Redrow and William Davis Homes, where he managed construction and customer care teams delivering high-quality homes alongside excellent customer service.

He holds an NVQ Level 7 Diploma in Construction Senior Management, is an associate member of the Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate (ICWCI) and is also a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).

Based out of the Market Harborough office, Dan will lead and manage the national clerk of works team, further developing our expert quality inspection and reporting offering across both the residential and commercial sectors.

With more than 15 years of industry experience, Alex joins the team following roles with housebuilders and developers, including McCarthy & Stone. His appointment will bolster resource across the South East, where he will monitor progress on site through multiple inspections to achieve practical completion, as well as managing end of defects inspections.

Duncan holds 30 years of construction experience, spending a large proportion of his career working in domestic carpentry roles on sites across the East Midlands for housebuilders including Persimmon Homes, Taylor Wimpey and Barratt Redrow. He will be applying his extensive experience to bolster the consultancy’s clerk of works offering on projects and schemes across the Midlands and North.

Hardeep Kooner, board director at Gateley RJA, said:

“Over the last six years, our national team has grown to 21 people, as demand for clerk of works services continues to increase in response to growing regulatory pressure across the construction industry to meet strict quality and safety requirements.

“This is the first time we have appointed both technical director and assistant roles, reflecting our continued investment in, and commitment to, establishing a dedicated clerk of works offering as part of our wider growth strategy. All three appointments bring extensive industry experience, and we’re looking forward to seeing Dan settle into his role and continue to drive the team forward, providing outstanding services for clients while also supporting the winning of new work.”
