We have named the Royal Berks Charity as our chosen charity partner for our Reading office, following an internal nomination and voting process.

The charity – which supports the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust across all the Berkshire Hospital locations, from the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading, to Townlands Memorial Hospital in Henley, and West Berks Community Hospital in Thatcham, as well as through various other community centres and outreach programmes – was the overwhelming choice of the team, who were keen to a relationship built up with the charity in recent times.

We have previously supported Royal Berks Charity by raising funds for Babies In Buscot Support (BIBS), which focuses on the special care babies and their families receive in the Royal Berkshire Hospital, as well as donating more than £1,000 towards new garden furniture and furnishings for their stroke unit last year.

Over the next year, the Reading team will undertake a series of fundraising and volunteering activities as we look to support the charity’s mission to provide vital funds that enhance the care and experience of its patients and staff.

Andrew Peddie, corporate partner and Reading office head, said: “As part of Gateley’s responsible business strategy, each office annually nominates a local cause close to their heart to be their office charity. We have seen and heard first-hand the impact that fundraising can have for the patients and families that pass through the hospitals supported by the Royal Berks Charity, and we are proud to be raising crucial funds to help with their amazing work.

“We were delighted to host Joanne Somner from the team at our office recently, hearing stories of the impact that businesses can have by choosing to pledge their support to the charity, both financial and through volunteering opportunities.”

We’re so pleased to have been chosen as Gateley’s charity partner this year. The team’s energy and genuine passion for supporting their local hospital really shines through. Their fundraising and volunteering will make such a difference to patients and staff across Berkshire – from helping us enhance hospital spaces to funding those extra touches of care that mean so much. We can’t wait to see what we can achieve together.
