Our annual Belfast business quiz has raised thousands of pounds for two local charities.

Held at the Ten Square Hotel in Belfast, the event raised a total of £3,335 to be split between Gateley’s nominated charities Aspire NI, which aims to close the educational attainment gap between the rich and poor, and East Belfast Mission, an organisation which aims to give the people of Northern Ireland the building blocks they need to build better futures and opportunities for themselves.

The evening brought together the great and the good of the Belfast business community, with more than 130 competitors split across 22 teams. In dramatic fashion, it took a tiebreak round to split Rathbones and BT, with the wealth management specialists ultimately prevailing and being crowned champions on the night.

This is the fourth year that Gateley has hosted the business quiz, with both donations and attendee numbers continuing to rise year-on-year. Since its inception in 2022, the quiz has now raised more than £10,000 for good causes in the city.

Alison Reid, partner and Belfast office head, said: “Thank you to everybody who once again joined us for a brilliant evening of quizzing, laughs and generosity. We are always honoured to see such support for the event as it goes from strength-to-strength and we continue to raise crucial funds for two amazing charities. Congratulations to our friends at Rathbones on their triumph, we hope to see them back to defend their crown next year!”

The business quiz was a fantastic night, so well run and genuinely great fun to be part of. Moments like this highlight the incredible support Aspire NI receives from Gateley, not just on one night but right throughout the year. Their continued investment in our work makes a real difference as we seek to close the educational attainment gap.
