Our residential development team has advised Vistry Group North East on the successful exchange on contract for 900 new homes at Little Thorpe, County Durham.
Having first received outline consent for residential use in 2013, the development team has successfully unlocked the stalled development to allow for works to commence on site later this year.
Included in Durham County Council’s “Five Year Housing Land Position Statement”, the scheme will significantly develop the Little Thorpe area, bringing forward a range of much-needed new, high-quality, mixed-tenure and affordable homes, positively impacting the economy of Peterlee and the surrounding areas.
Residential development partner, Dan Kendall, led on the work from Gateley Legal alongside residential development associate, Safeer Razzaq.
Dan commented: “This is a fantastic way for Gateley Legal and Vistry Group to kick off their relationship in 2026. I am incredibly proud to have led our team on a transaction of this scale.”
“This scheme will not only help to meet the much-needed demand for housing development, but it will also deliver a wide range of positive benefits for the local community.”
