Hannah is an associate in our planning unit with experience in acting for both public and private sector clients, including local authorities, landowners and developers.

Hannah has experience of advising on a wide range of planning and highways matters including the drafting and negotiation of Section 106 Agreements and Deeds of Variation, assisting on compulsory purchase orders and asset of community value matters, negotiating various infrastructure agreements with local highway authorities, National Highways and water undertakers and advising on the acquisition of complex multi-use sites including assisting with the general due diligence process.

Experience

  1. Drafting and negotiating Section 106 Agreements for housebuilders and care home providers. Including advising on affordable housing, biodiversity net gain, open space, sports, employment and education provisions, viability and other requirements.
  2. Advising housebuilders and build-to-rent clients on the acquisition of complex multi-use sites including advising on the impact of the Hillside decision and assisting with the due diligence process.
  3. Advising housebuilder clients on the impact of assets of community value (ACV) including assisting with appealing the confirmation of an ACV at the First Tier Tribunal. This included advising on the ACV and First Tier Tribunal rules, liaising and co-ordinating experts and Counsel, preparing expert witness statements and collating evidence.
  4. Advising developers on highway issues including public rights of way and the negotiation of highway agreements with local highway authorities and National Highways.
  5. Negotiating drainage agreements on behalf of landowners and developers.
  6. Advising a local authority on a compulsory purchase order (CPO) to enable the regeneration of a town centre including liaising and co-ordinating experts and Counsel, preparing expert witness statements and assisting with the diversion of key infrastructure.
  7. Advising private sector clients on the impact of CPOs including objecting to the CPO and negotiations to mitigate the effect of any works on the daily running of their business.
  8. Advising private individuals, developers and landowners on general planning matters, including permitted development rights, implementation of planning permissions, tree preservation orders and listed building issues.
