We have advised the shareholders of supplier of water and wastewater treatment products, Jacopa Limited, on the sale to Rubicon Partners.
The transaction represents the sale of the entire issued share capital of Jacopa to Rubicon Partners. Managing director Alex Lloyd and finance director Pete Sargent have reinvested into the business and will remain working as part of the management team in their existing executive capacities.
Formed in 2015 following the MBO of the UK and Irish municipal division of Ovivo Inc alongside investment from Clearwater International, Jacopa designs, supplies, installs, maintains, hires and services a range of wastewater and water treatment equipment. Headquartered in West Bromwich, Jacopa is a key supplier to all end-user municipal water companies across the UK and Ireland. Its acquisition by Rubicon Partners will equip the business with the tools to grow and develop its capabilities further.
Gateley Legal’s team was led by partner and Nottingham head of corporate Victoria Elliott, supported by corporate associate Gweni Rees-Evans, corporate solicitor Rosie Butler, corporate paralegal Felix Abbott Black, employment legal director Helen Webster, real estate partner Colin Gittus and partner and head of tax James Gopsill. Gateley Legal worked alongside Clearwater International, who provided corporate finance advice to the sellers on the transaction.
Victoria Elliott commented: “Jacopa is a longstanding client of Gateley Legal and it has been a pleasure to work with the management team from the MBO in 2015 all the way through to the company’s sale to Rubicon Partners. The deal was completed in a tight timeframe, showcasing our team’s efficiency and dedication to complete a successful transaction that will benefit another business based in the Midlands.”
