At the end of July, our Belfast office sponsored Camp Aspire through one of its office charities, Aspire Northern Ireland. Camp Aspire provided opportunities for 50 disadvantaged young people in Northern Ireland to attend a weeklong event at Crawfordsburn Scout Centre.
A spokesperson for Aspire NI said: “For many young people who attended camp, it's the only time throughout the year where they spend time away from their homes as many don’t have the opportunity to go away on family holidays. All the families we work with are experiencing some level of poverty including relative poverty, which effects much more people than most of us realise. Our aim was to provide a space where young people could unwind, engage in thrilling activities, and most importantly, learn a little bit more about different communities in Northern Ireland.
“We are incredibly grateful to Gateley Legal NI for their generous support, which made Camp Aspire possible. Their contribution was instrumental in providing this transformative experience for our young participants.”
