The Nottingham office of Gateley Plc, the legal business of law-led professional services group Gateley continues to expand its Residential Development offering with the appointment of a new associate, solicitor, trainee solicitor and legal secretary.

The team headed-up by partner, Steven Plummer, formed in May last year in response to  client demand  for a Residential Development team  located in the Group’s Nottingham office to support house builders operating in the East Midlands and in East Anglia. Associate, Alexandra Smith, solicitor, Anna Thomas and legal secretary, Diane Lazzari all join from Geldards LLP, with Molly Shipman joining the team as a trainee solicitor.

Steven said: “Since re-locating from Leeds to Nottingham I have been impressed with how active the house building scene is in the East Midlands.  The clients that I am acting for are all busy which provides a refreshing change from the economic doom and gloom that is presented to us on a daily basis at the moment.

“I am extremely pleased to be able to welcome Alexandra, Anna, Dianne and Molly to the Residential Development team at Gateley.  Alexandra and Anna are both very talented solicitors whose expertise in dealing with complex development transactions when combined with their enthusiasm [to succeed in the house building sector] is fantastic for our clients and also for Gateley.”

Partner and national head of Residential Development, Callum Nuttall said: “Gateley has the biggest specialist Residential Development legal team nationally, acting for 18 of the top 20 housebuilders and is panelled to nearly all of the main players within the industry.

“The growth of the team in Nottingham will add further strength to the wider business, as well as providing a regional focus on the East Midlands.”

Gateley Plc acts for all 10 of the top housebuilders nationally and is ranked amongst the top-tier law firms in the Legal 500 for the East Midlands region for finance and real estate.
