We are pleased to have been shortlisted for three awards at the Birmingham Law Society’s 2026 Legal Awards.
Headlining the nominations is Rebecca Sherwin, who has been shortlisted for the Partner of the Year title after overseeing a double-digit headcount growth in the Birmingham office, whilst championing our sustainability strategy, passionately promoting the city and supporting the communities in the spaces where we operate.
Congratulations also go to Madison Timmins who has been shortlisted in the Apprentice of the Year category, celebrating not only her legal work as a solicitor apprentice in the residential development unit, but also her role as a Gateley Gives champion.
Finally, the kind and generous efforts of so many of the team has led to Gateley Legal being shortlisted in the Pro Bono award. Throughout the year, we have supported Netball Aid, Birmingham Opera Company, Baby Lifeline and Birmingham Metropolitan College (BMet), as well as a variety of education, arts and community support initiatives close to the hearts of individuals across the Group.

As the largest law society outside of London, the Birmingham Law Society’s Legal Awards are one of the highlights of the region’s calendar, celebrating the best talent in the city and the surrounding area.
We are proud to have a rich heritage at these awards, having last year been crowned Law Firm of the Year, as well as winning the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Award for the past two years in a row.
Speaking at the unveiling of the shortlist, the judges said: “It has been wonderful to see not only strong engagement with current initiatives, but also the creation of new groups, fresh ideas, and a genuine commitment to growing Birmingham’s professional community. The standard of applications was exceptionally high, particularly within the junior lawyer categories, where the calibre, dedication, and quality of work truly stood out.”
The winner of each category which will be announced on Thursday 12 February at the glittering awards dinner at the city’s iconic ICC venue.
