We are thrilled to be celebrating a win at the Insider North East Young Professionals Awards 2025.

Jake McGee, chartered engineer in our Newcastle-based team, was named Young Property/ Construction Professional of the Year.

The judges praised Jake for his leading role on providing structural engineering services, working on diverse and high-value projects for commercial and residential clients stating Jake’s “expert witness work with law firms, as well as mentorship, fostering and leadership within his team, set him apart.”

Gateley Smithers Purslow’s engineering team was also shortlisted in the Young Professional Team of the Year with Dominik Bodinger a finalist in the Young Apprentice/ Graduate of the Year category.

Organised by regional business publication, Insider Media, the annual event saw the region come together at the Newcastle Hilton to recognise the outstanding contributions of teams and talented individuals aged 35 or under over the past year.

Mark Campbell, Regional Director (North East) at Gateley Smithers Purslow, said: “We are delighted that Jake has been recognised for his outstanding service to clients and contributing to the growth, development and reputation of our Newcastle-based team, which goes from strength to strength. Our commitment to delivering exceptional client service whilst also nurturing the next generation of talent and building fulfilling long-term careers is clearly demonstrated by our recognition across three award categories this year, and I couldn’t be prouder.”

This latest award builds on Gateley Smithers Purslow’s success at the Insider Midlands Young Professionals Awards 2025, where we won ‘Young Apprentice of the Year’ and ‘Young Property Professional of the Year’.
