Our colleagues from Gateley RJA, Harman Singh Barech, technical director, and Bob Edwards, senior chartered quantity surveyor, recently volunteered at Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People in Market Harborough. The hospice cares for babies, children and young people with serious or terminal conditions across the East Midlands.

Harman and Bob spent the day in the sorting room, processing donations that keep the hospice running. They sorted bags of clothes and bric-a-brac, removing items that didn’t meet quality standards and preparing those that did for sale. Each item was labelled and organised by category ready for steaming, pricing and display. Thanks to their efforts, a large amount of stock was prepared helping drive a successful sales day immediately after.

The team at the hospice said: “We had an enjoyable day with Bob and Harman and hoped they enjoyed it too. They spent the day in our sorting room processing donations, and thanks to their help, we managed to get a lot processed. This contributed to a great sales day afterwards.”
