16 colleagues from our Birmingham Corporate team recently swapped their desks for a hands-on team volunteering day with our environmental charity partner, the Heart of England Forest.
The team planted 240 trees and laid 500 patches of mulch, contributing to the charity’s ambitious mission to create a 30,000-acre forest.
Corporate partner Andrew Cowan said: “It was a very enjoyable and rewarding day volunteering at the Heart of England Forest. Being out in nature was a refreshing change from our usual office environment and we were fortunate to have sunny weather which made the experience even better. The hard work of planting trees and mulching was worth all the effort the team put in. It was also a great opportunity to bond in a different environment, enjoy the fresh air and work together benefiting both our team and the planet.”
The Heart of England Forest senior corporate partnerships manager, Fran Bos, expressed gratitude to the team, saying: “Your team was enthusiastic, hardworking, and fully committed to the cause. The tree planting will have a lasting impact on the health and sustainability of the Forest, helping to create a greener future for generations to come. On behalf of the entire Heart of England Forest team, we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Gateley.”
