Aby is an associate within the dispute resolution team, with experience acting for private clients, SMEs and multinationals.
She has experience of running cases from first inception to trial in both the County Courts and High Court and has had previous involvement in cross border disputes.
Aby proactively advises on settlement tactics, including factors to be taken into account when deciding the best time to engage in settlement discussions or mediation so as to achieve the best potential outcome.
How do you help clients?
There is rarely a one-size-fits-all solution to resolving a dispute and I take the time to work closely with clients to understand their position and any commercial considerations that may affect them so that my advice is tailored to their business needs.
I advise on alternate dispute resolution options which can offer a more cost effective or confidential resolution where appropriate.
Experience
- Advising on a product recall claim under an insurance policy and issuing protective proceedings against a proposed defendant company based in Mexico.
- Providing advice in relation to issuing injunctive proceedings against an employee who had allegedly copied confidential company information in breach of their restrictive covenants.
- Acting for the claimant in the case of LNT Aviation Limited v Airbus Helicopters UK Limited involving a dispute in respect of a helicopter gear replacement and claim for breach of contract.
- Advising in relation to a significant and complex finance agreement relating to static caravans and motor homes providing advice in relation to the transfer of legal ownership and passing of title.
- Acting for a national housebuilder in a dispute regarding adoption of roads and requirement to pay for street lighting where it was not possible to ascertain from billing information which streetlight was located in which position.
- Acting on behalf of select board members of an unincorporated organisation in a potential claim for unfair prejudice when trying to evict a section of a club entirely.
